The one whose intellect remains steady, neither perturbed by pleasure nor by pain, is the greatest.

The one whose intellect remains steady, neither perturbed by pleasure nor by pain, is the greatest.

Imagine if you start considering your clothes as yourself, meaning if you begin to think that the shirt or any clothing you wear is you, you will get attached to it. When those clothes tear or get stained, you will become distressed. Similarly, if you start considering your WhatsApp messages or your feelings as yourself, thinking that what you are feeling is you, you are living in an illusion.

If you actually understand this truth, not just theoretically, but see it from within with complete self-awareness and the highest consciousness of your mind, you will realize that what you think is not you. If all thoughts and feelings disappear from your mind, if everything around you, even your body, ceases to exist, what remains is you. Do not name or separately imagine that which remains; it has no shape or form, it just is.

The cause of all our suffering is, deeply seen, our own thoughts and feelings. We are troubled because of what we constantly think. If we stop thinking about a particular thing, will we still be troubled by it? No. Thus, it is the thoughts and feelings that trouble us.

When we see the truth that what we think is only in the mind and not reality, our suffering lessens. Problems actually occur at the human level. For example, someone says something to you or behaves in a certain way, and you become troubled because you have given more importance to their thoughts than to your self. When you understand that thoughts are just thoughts and not yourself, and you perform your duties simply as tasks, you realize that everything happening is just a process to be understood.

When you view life from this perspective, that everything is constantly passing and disappearing, nothing remains the same. For instance, you are reading this now, but you cannot go back to the exact moment when you started reading it. So, why worry about situations that won't return? And why get excited about things that haven't happened yet?

Here, I am trying to explain how the basic levels of the mind work. When you completely understand that you are separate from your mind, that thoughts are just thoughts, and you are not a feeling or emotion, but rather you use these things to improve your life without letting them dominate and ruin it, then you are using your mind properly.

I will write more about this in my blog. Stay with me,

thank you.
